about
Anthony Maroun
Anthony Maroun arrived in Australia on November 11th, 1959. After four years in the workplace, a young Lebanese man in his late tens might be seen racing around the BP North Melbourne Service Station, trying to make a buck. And that’s where a young businessman learned the importance of being a part of the daily procedures in order to achieve great success – you could always spot gregarious Anthony around. In April 1971 because of the family reasons Anthony had to return back to Lebanon. But what we wouldn’t do for our loved ones?

He got into furniture manufacture while helping his parents in Lebanon, and he can now tell the difference between well-made pieces and replicas. Before returning to Australia, he owned and operated a furniture factory for eight years. In addition, Anthony Maroun has worked in showrooms, furniture imports/exports, and trade. From the 1970s to the early 1990s, when he developed one of North Lebanon's best-equipped furniture showrooms. He was taking care of his family and starting a new life there. Until the day he made the decision to return to the country he adores and respects. And offer his children the freedom to choose who they want to be and where they want to live.

Since his return to Australia for the second time in 1998, Anthony has been in the antiques business. Wakim Antique Restorations P/L is likely to go down in Australian history as the most welcoming store. And all of that you can experience here - in Coburg. From the very first moment you walk into the shop, a tasteful aroma of Lebanese coffee soaks you in for a conversation. The next thing you know – you are comfortably chatting over a cup of coffee with the big boss himself. And that is what this man brought to the Wurundjeri people's homeland.

Anthony strongly believes that his word is as good as his signature. He highly values family-oriented people. And always provides service he is expects to get in return. Quality.
