Born in Brooklyn, New York in 1912, Sarnoff was an artist known for his whimsical and engaging work, often featuring Americana and slapstick humor. He studied at the Industrial School and the Grand Central School of Art in New York City and was a member of the Society of Illustrators. His extensive commercial portfolio included advertising campaigns for various brands and illustrations for numerous magazines. Among his notable works is "The Hustler," one of the best-selling prints of the 1950s, and the iconic painting "Jack the Ripper," depicting dogs playing pool. Sarnoff married Lillian Skaff, with whom he had two children before divorcing. In the 1960s, he married Muriel Zapoleon. He passed away in 2000 in Boca Raton, Florida.
