Vintage 42-piece “Joanne” pattern ‘Noritake’ Fine China Set from C.1930’s. Pattern number: 6466. The ‘Noritake’ corporation was founded by the Morimura Brothers in Tokyo, with an export office in New York. They initially produced a broad variety of Nippon-marked china and also marketed china in-the-white, or blanks for outside agencies and decorators to decorate, therefore the quality of the early final product can vary. The Morimura Brothers founded ‘Nippon Toki Kaisha Ltd' in 1904 and established a production facility in Noritake, near Nagoya, on Japan's Honshu island. They originally registered their ‘Noritake’ back stamp in 1908, and their first ‘Noritake’ mark in the United States in 1911. Set consists of x6 Teacups, x6 Soup Bowls, x6 Saucers, x6 Side Plates, x6 Charger Plates, x6 Small Dinner Plates, x6 Large Dinner Plates. Comes in Excellent Condition.
