Vintage Collectible 14-Volume Set of Oxford Classic Non-Fiction Novels by Alexandre Dumas in Original Condition. Alexandre Dumas, better known as Alexandre Dumas père, was a French writer who was born Dumas Davy de la Pailleterie. He is one of the most widely read French authors, with his works having been translated into many languages. Many of his high-adventure historical novels, such as The Count of Monte Cristo, The Three Musketeers, Twenty Years After, and The Vicomte of Bragelonne: Ten Years Later, were first serialised. Since the early twentieth century, his works have been made into approximately 200 films. Dumas began his career as a playwright, and his plays were staged successfully from the beginning. He also contributed to a number of magazines and travel books. His writings were published in a total of 100,000 pages. Dumas founded the Théâtre Historique in Paris in the 1840s. Books were published in Great Britain. Set includes:
