After the Meiji Restoration, Western-style fashion gained popularity, prompting the importation of ribbon looms from Germany to Kyoto in 1888 by Nishijin craftsmen, marking the inception of Japan's textile industry. This innovation sparked ribbon production in Fukui Prefecture, known for silk fabrics, with Fukui and Kyoto becoming major hubs. Inspired by the luxury item status of ribbon, Yoshikazu Nozawa, a silk seller commuting between Kyoto and Fukui, established MARUSHIN as a wholesale company. Vintage Collectible Platter comes in Great Condition.
