In the 1910s, the Art Deco style began to take shape. The movement began with decorative arts and swiftly progressed to building. This became a popular style in Western Europe and the United States beginning in the 1930s. In 1925, the style was first seen in Paris. Modernism was symbolised by the Art Deco design, which spoke of elegance, success, and money. The distinctive aspects of Art Deco style were bright and strong from the start. Having a basic, clean, geometric, and streamlined appearance. Man-made materials, which were becoming increasingly fashionable, were commonly used in the style. During the Great Depression of the 1930s, the Art Deco style became more subdued. However, new materials such as chrome, plastic, and stainless steel appeared on the scene. Art Deco may have appeared paradoxical at the time, but it swiftly gained popularity as a result of people's desire to be current. With the outbreak of World War 2, the dominance was swiftly eroded. Following that, the growth of practical, plain forms affected architecture, furnishings, and grooming. With time, a sleeker version of the style known as Streamline Moderne emerged. Curving curves and smooth, polished surfaces characterise this look. Because Art Deco artefacts were rarely mass-produced, it was a style that demanded outstanding design and workmanship. Many of the most famous Art Deco designers created products that were handcrafted one at a time. Glassware, other furniture, jewellery, and sculptures are examples. Art Deco evolved into a truly global style. Art Deco mirrors made a big statement in the 20th century while also serving a practical purpose: they let in a lot of light. Bevelled edge mirrors in various forms and sizes were the most common mirrors of the time. These oddly curved mirrors gives one's room a trendy, opulent impression.
