Gourd is a traditional Peruvian Art. Traveling merchants bring gourds to Cochas, and when they've been skinned, washed, and dried, artisans can start carving to create a three-dimensional design. To add varied colours of brown into the work, some artisans utilise a burning process known as quemado.
