This fantastic Rococo-style French mantel clock by maker Jacob Petit is in fantastic antique condition. Jacob Petit (1796-1868) was a prominent 19th-century porcelain artist known for his flamboyant style. The case is made of porcelain with hand painted floral motifs and elaborate gilding on a claret background. This was a unique choice as most contemporary clocks used gilded bronze. These clocks were typically created around 1855. Please note this gorgeous antique clock comes as is, without pendulum.
