Widely recognised as a pinnacle of portable gramophone design, the HMV Model 97A portable gramophone was made around 1935, as part of a series (97A, B, C, D) introduced by HMV in 1935 as a simpler, cheaper alternative to the popular HMV 102. The 'A' version featured nickel fittings, while later models introduced chromium and different motors. All the HMV Gramophones were patented in Great Britain, Germany, France, Austria, Russia and Belgium. Gramophone comes in excellent working order with good quality original case and original maker’s decal.
