Although the SP-310 has a modest price, it is packed with features. Additionally, it offers a fair amount of customization, which is unusual for a camera in this class, so you can adjust it to your particular shooting style. Additionally, it doesn't bury all those features deep within menus. I'm not a huge fan of the Olympus menu system because it can take a lot of key clicks to adjust even the most basic settings, but the SP-310 demonstrates that it can be very usable with customization choices and a tonne of external buttons. You can configure the SP-310 to make changing the shutter speed, aperture, white balance, and ISO quick and simple. If you prefer to "point and shoot," the abundance of scene modes should satisfy you.
