Producers of dinner and tea wares, they were particularly known for teapot manufacture. c.1907-1910 they manufactured the 'Largest Teapot in the World', this held 1024 cups of tea. The works continued to develop and sometime between 1900 and 1925 a new factory had been built in Harvey Street this was then called the Harvey Pottery and the adjacent works on Moorland Road called the Albany Pottery. For a short period (c.1925-30) they also used the Chelsea Works, Moorland Road, Burslem and then Susie Copper took these works. C.1950 the business was sold to Minerals Separation who had also acquired, in 1947, a 90% stake in Howard Pottery. The name Gibson & Sons was retained. By 1957 Gibson & Sons had vacated the Harvey Pottery works. By 1965 the Albany Pottery was too large for the reduced amount of ware they were producing and the remainder business was moved to Howard Pottery, Norfolk Street, Shelton (with Royal Winton). They made dinner and tea dishes, and were particularly well-known for their teapots. They made the 'Largest Teapot in the World' between 1907 and 1910, which contained 1024 cups of tea. The company continued to expand, and between 1900 and 1925, a new plant on Harvey Street was erected, which was known as the Harvey Pottery, and an adjacent factory on Moorland Road was known as the Albany Pottery. They also used the Chelsea Works, Moorland Road, Burslem for a short time (c.1925-30), until Susie Copper took over. Minerals Separation purchased a 90% share in Howard Pottery in 1947 and sold the firm to them in 1950. The Gibson & Sons name was kept. Gibson & Sons had left the Harvey Pottery works by 1957. By 1965, the Albany Pottery had grown too large for the small amount of ware it was producing, so the balance of the business was moved to Howard Pottery, Norfolk Street, Shelton (with Royal Winton).
