Elischer, Elischer Creations, Elischer Australia, NCP, and National Ceramic Products are marks found on slipcast ware produced by John Wally Elischer's Melbourne-based National Ceramics Products factory from 1947 until 1987. Geoff Ford's Encyclopaedia of Australian Potters' Marks has a complete list of marks with dates of use. The sculptor John Wolfgang Elischer (1891-1966), John Wally's father, sculpted a variety of animals that were slipcast by the Cooper & Cook Pottery in Glenhuntly in the late 1930s and 1940s, and afterwards by National Ceramic Products. A painted 'Elischer' appears on these. Other marks include embossed, printed, and impressed marks, as well as a variety of paper labels. In 1987, the pottery was sold to Peter Gillon, and in 1994, it was merged with Peter McEwin's PNA Pottery, trading as G.M. Ceramics until 2002. Vintage Elischer Pottery Pitcher comes in Original Condition and has a few Cracks.
